Nike Air Max 1

The trainer that has had a huge impact in the last few years and become an absolute must for every sneaker head. The Nike Air Max 1 was lying dormant for many years as people favoured the simpler, subtle designs, but with the sudden demand for retro and statement trainers, the Air Max 1 slotted in perfectly.

First released in 1987, when many of its current wearers were born, the Air Max 1 updated a classic running silhouette, with the Nike Air cushioning unit on full display with its unique transparent window which proved to be a huge hit with trainer fans everywhere.

Since 1987 the Air Max 1 has been produced in a variety of colourways and fabric combinations and the ‘90s saw slight design changes in design to form the Air Max 1 we see today. With collaborative designs from Liberty of London, APC, Kid Robot and illustrator Ben Drury to name a few, the Air Max 1 has become an iconic design that can be easily transformed with multiple panels, unique textures and an endless combination of colours.

In the last two years the demand for this retro classic has seen Nike producing a wide variety of packs, Quickstrikes and collaborations utilizing the latest in their ever evolving technology.The latest offering from Nike is from their Quickstrike ‘Tape’ Pack, giving the seamless tape treatment to the most popular white, grey and red OG colourway. This futuristic version of its original colourway features engineered mesh, suede and Hyperfuse tape uppers.

With the OG release and new colours dropping monthly, the Air Max 1 keeps us interested and we at Offspring are looking forward to watching this iconic model evolve.
