Vans have joined forces with us and London based streetwear brand clothsurgeon to create a premium crafted Old Skool and Sk8-Hi, launching exclusively with Offspring at Selfridges in store and online on Friday 4th November.
Combining the passions and aesthetics of all three partners, the shoes are the culmination of a truly collaborative project. Centred around two iconic Vans silhouettes, the focus of the project was to create something unique, taking inspiration from British menswear design details and maintaining an emphasis on quality.
With clothsurgeon designer Rav Matharu’s nostalgic love for the movie ‘Fast Times at Ridgemont High’ as a starting point and the design references, heritage and philosophies that emanate from Vans, Offspring and clothsurgeon’s combined creative history, the outcome captures all of this as well as their mutual obsession and love for beautiful footwear.
Using luxury veg tan hide and soft suedes for a premium execution and ice sole with the iconic Vans checkerboard, the shoes also feature a gimping detail that runs around the midsole as a homage to British shoe heritage. Whilst zig zag detailing is taken from one of clothsurgeon’s most celebrated silhouettes, the MA-1.
The bespoke side of the clothsurgeon brand is then encapsulated by the insole and box sleeve, which are scattered in patterns of their staple bomber jacket, finished with a cropped garment bag to take the shoes away. It is a conscious effort to merge the two worlds of streetwear and Savile Row.
Offspring’s Aman Tak commented on the collaboration: “We wanted to create a shoe that maintained Vans DNA, but merged three worlds of skate, streetwear and luxury together. Three things that each of us stand for in our respective fields and I think that’s exactly what we’ve achieved.”
Limited quantities of the unique shoes are available at our Offspring concession in Selfridges, online and in-store, from tomorrow.

The latest collaboration from Vans sees two Classic Original prints brought back from the 80’s, when Vans originally collaborated with the Peanuts crew. The re-released Peanut prints on heavy 8oz canvas, celebrate the kids-only state of mind and are available in Offspring Selfridges only.

To honour the latest collaboration between Vans x Andrea Crews Offspring Shoreditch hosted an exclusive party in store on Thursday evening. Brimming with cool kids, bloggers and trainer fanatics, the crowd was buzzing, enjoying drinks, DJs and of course the Andrea Crews collection.
Maroussia Rebecq led Parisian collective Andrea Crews crafted this unique Vans collection based on the Classic Slip On. Consisting of three unique prints, the Slip Ons reference this seasons “Solarize” collection, fusing Andrea Crews’ playful approach to fashion with Vans classic Californian style.
Showcasing a pale colour palette of blues, greens and grey, the bold graphics are printed on canvas with lime green leather lining.
The Vans x Andrea Crews collection is limited and exclusive to Offspring in the UK, with Offspring Shoreditch and Offspring Selfridges London being the only two stores in the country stocking them.
This limited pack is flying out so be sure to get down to these two London stores to get your hands on a pair.

To celebrate the Chinese Zodiac Year of the Horse, a couple of our favourite sportswear giants have some new limited releases in honour of the Chinese New Year.
First up is Nike’s women’s pack, featuring some staple trainer styles that you ladies love. The newly popular Dunk Sky Hi with its hidden wedge and two classics, the Air Max 1 and Air Force 1 High.
Symbolic design notes reflect the Chinese calendar, showcasing an aged grey leather base with metallic gold accents and a red equine emblem embroidered on the tongue and heel. In Chinese tradition gold represents elegance, luxury and good fortune and the red is there to give good luck, so make sure you snap up a pair of these lucky limited editions.
The Nike ‘Year of the Horse’ pack will be available in selected Offspring stores and online at www.offspring.com. The Air Force 1 High will be released on Saturday 8th February, the Air Max 1 on the 15th February and the Dunk Sky High on the 1st March.
Vans celebration of the Chinese Year of the Horse comes in the form of a four piece capsule collection using a Vans classic style the Sk8-Hi. Vans worked with over 15 different Chinese creative personalities who worked around the ideas of following one path with unrestrained expression and freedom, character traits of the Horse according to the Chinese zodiac.
The Sk8-Hi pack takes on a lavish faux horse hair upper with suede overlays, in four dashing colours of chilli pepper red, cherry blossom pink, navy and a limited edition black. The trainer is peppered with some noteworthy details such as a tapered tan leather heel counter that extends to the top line, matching tan waxed laces and a special Year of the Horse label sewed onto the tongue and stamped on the insert. The handsome upper rests atop a clean and familiar white rubber outsole with a subtle touch of detail at the tip of the waffle some in the form of a horse shoe.

The Vault by Vans collection kicks off its ten year anniversary by reissuing character prints that were originally released with Disney in the 1980s. Vans have utilised some of the animation house’s most loved characters and set them perfectly with some classic Vans silhouettes, making both brands instantly recognisable.
At Offspring HQ we were lucky enough to get our hands on an original Vans x Disney pair from the late 1980s. Featuring ecru cream uppers with the iconic Mickey Mouse pulling a variety of faces and his name emblazoned around the sole.
Discontinued for decades the prints have, in true Disney form, magically re-emerged for Vans Classic launch. This style assortment features the Authentic LX and Sk8-Hi LX, the first vulcanized, waffled sole styles in their truest form.
Featuring Disney favourites, Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and Winnie the Pooh, these are a true collector classic for Vans and Disney fans alike.
This limited collection is only available from Offspring Selfridges London and released on Saturday 3rd August.
Vans followers out there will already be aware of their California Collection, an unpretentious premium offering that reworks Classic styles. Taking inspiration from California’s bohemian artistry blending with a carefree culture that’s grounded in vintage surf and skate, the designers display this heritage throughout the collection.
