A_ ANIME

Seems loads of the Community are crazy for some Anime action. From the epic battles to the mind-bending storylines, whether you’re into the classics like Dragon Ball Z or the latest hits like Attack on Titan, Anime’s got something for everyone and once you’re in, you’re hooked for life.

–––

Anime is a huge one for me especially ‘Attack on Titan’. Not only do I think the potential sneaker collabs could go crazy but even talking about those was how I ended up speaking to fellow Offspring member sukh.s.g 🤝🏽. If it wasn't for the influence of that TV show and our combined love for sneakers, I wouldn’t know the guy ✊🏽 – dylan..._.dylan

Dragonball as a kid, but could easily still put it on today and get engrossed in it 😍 – benny_snkrs

When it comes to Anime, you can’t beat classics like Dragon Ball Z, Pokémon, One Punch Man, and Naruto – they’re just the best✨ – shivani29k

B_ BREAKING BAD

Hands down the most rated TV series by you the Community, it got so many shout outs for being the best ever. Walter White and Jesse Pinkman’s 62-episode run had you hooked from the first show. If you’ve somehow missed this series, do yourself a favour. Get on it.

–––

TV show is Breaking Bad without a shadow of doubt. Think I’ve seen it though 4 times at least. – randeepkang

Favorite all-time series, a bit boring pick but I think Breaking Bad is the best ever done. The build-up is just genius. – tomasterrr

TV show Breaking Bad changed everything for me. The best ever!!! – ___tff

D_ DENZEL

“King Kong ain’t got 5h!t on Me!”. Yeh, that line pretty much sums up Denzel Washington. He’s played so many incredible and intense roles over the years, from Malcom X to more recently the Equalizer – no wonder Denzel gets all the plaudits from you.

–––

Favourite film is without doubt Training Day, big Denzel only stars in bangers! – ashbelsten

Hard to pick out film as favourites but anything with Bruce Willis, Denzel Washington or Anthony Hopkins in are my favourites. – sarahdav86

E_ EASTENDERS

This soap has been on TV for years! A staple growing up in most family households in London, Albert Square has given us the likes of Dirty Den and Ang, The Fowlers, The Butchers, The Mitchells, The Slaters… the list just goes on and on. Ain’t no Christmas like an Eastenders Christmas either, damn, 5h!t always goes down.

–––

My guilty pleasure has gotta be Eastenders. – 92inc_

Apart from the old skool routine of watching Eastenders 😩🤣, I’m currently watching Fallout on Prime. – marvlousmarv1

F_ FRESH PRINCE

Simply one of best sitcoms we grew up with. Will Smith gave us a street kid from Philadelphia that moves to Bel-Air to live with his rich uncle, aunt, cousins, and their butler. It’s a show that juxtaposed hip-hop culture, with Black upper-class ethos, and through the jokes tackled everything from racism to sexism. And how could we not mention Will’s sneakers – pure 🔥🔥🔥.

–––

Fresh Prince. Hands down the best ever show! – thisisvasleon

My fave series all time is Fresh Prince, it was a vibe with a lot of meaning. – l4v4lz

All-time favourite for me is ‘Fresh Prince of Bel Air” and ‘Everybody loves Raymond’. – bishy_g

G_ GANGSTERS

Must be hands down the most favoured genre of film and TV by the Community. De Niro, Pesci, Pacino and Gandolfini have given us some of the greatest and most menacing, performances ever. The dialogue is always superb, with the characters delivering the most memorable lines, from Michael Corleone’s “Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer” to Tony Montana’s “Say hello to my little friend”. A personal favourite, has gotta be Tommy DeVito’s mood changing “How am I funny?”.

–––

Favourite movies are Goodfellas, Scarface and Godfather. – ghostxsg

Too many to mention but for movies it would be Godfather P2, Casino, Leon, Shawshank, Star wars and many more. – raj_summan

I love a good series, so Sopranos has to be up there, and I grew up watching Scarface, The Godfather and Goodfella. – lovekickscustom

Favourite film is a hard one! Scarface? Goodfellas? Wolf of Wall Street? Straight Outta Compton, all excellent. However, my most watched is probably Casino. – willhughes1982

Sopranos is the goat addressing men’s mental health years ago. It was way before its time and it’s the age-old routing for the hero in the bad guy! – ehsanseraj

The Sopranos is simply the greatest tv show of all time. – whatfamm

I_ ICE CUBE & ICE T

These West Coast legends didn’t just rap about life on the streets, they lived it and then brought that authenticity to the big screen too. From Boyz N the Hood to Friday and New Jack City, these two icons showed the world that they weren’t just rappers, they were storytellers with a gritty edge.

–––

Boyz N the Hood. Saw it young and appreciated it for the obvious hip-hop link. Now I’m grown I appreciate it for John Singleton’s underlying commentary. As relevant now as 30+ years ago. – jaywdee77

Boyz N the Hood and Menace to Society are both classics, as well as Paid in Full! – jonjoness

A few I love are New Jack City, Boyz n the Hood, Enter the Dragon, Pulp Fiction, Scarface, Taxi Driver, Reservoir Dogs, The Goonies, The Godfather, and The Matrix. Actually, I’ll be here all day coz too many to list 😂 – crepbizzle

As the Community enters the world of fantasy and realm, Frodo along with his Fellowship Fam, journey across Middle Earth to destroy the One Ring in Mount Doom, and defeat Sauron. Side note, have any of you found yourselves calling your sneakers “My Precious”? No, just me then 😬.

Too many to name but favourite films are the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Used to watch all 3 every half term and holidays when I was in school, college and uni (revision routine). – erunncheema

M_ MARVEL

Stan Lee’s comic creations were brought to life as a series of films, that went on to become the Marvel Universe. Kicking off with Iron Man and followed by the Avengers, these superheroes have spent almost two decades battling the Red Skull, Loki, Hydra and ultimately Thanos. There was unanimously one Marvel film that got the top Community billing, it's all about End Game. It’s got the whole squad, from the original Avengers to the newbies, all coming together for the ultimate showdown!

N_ NOLAN

The genius that is Christopher Nolan has gone from working on low-budget independent films to working on some of the biggest blockbusters ever made, including this year’s Oscar winner Oppenheimer. P_ PRISON

We’re talking about films set in the slammer, where the bars are as tough as the inmates. The Shawshank Redemption got numerous shout outs for being one of the best – a movie of real grit and drama, corrupt guards and epic escape plans. It’s all about survival, betrayal, and the raw struggle for freedom, but most of all, it’s about hope.

Lovely Jubbly. Vive La France as they say in Rome. This time next year we’ll be millionaires. Ain’t no Gen Zs gonna have a clue what we saying here. Only Fools and Horses must be the biggest surprise series of all. It got so many big ups from the Community, second only to Breaking Bad. It’s a 100% classic British comedy. For laugher must be Mrs Brown Boys or Only Fools and Horses – the good old days 😂 – vtecvaper

With an almost unpronounceable surname and a thick Austrian accent, Arnie is without doubt an action megastar that many of the Community grew up with in the 80s and 90s. Movies like Commando and Predator got mentions, but the one that got the most shout outs was Terminator 2.

Side note, the most random and legit fact the Community will learn today. Your favourite sneaker store was almost called ‘SCHWARZENEGGERS’ before it eventually became OFFSPRING. 100% true story!

T_ TIME TRAVEL

The ability to travel through time is such a great movie storyline, whether it’s back in the past or Back to the Future. Who hasn’t, at least once in their lifetime, wished they could turn back the hands of time to buy a winning lottery ticket or to set something right that once went wrong, preferably whilst travelling in a DeLorean.

–––––

For favourite films, definitely 🍿 Back to the Future and Karate Kid for the nostalgia. – tidy_tiedye

BTTF 🔥 NOTHING BEATS IT! – benjy.sb

“Hey you guys!” You know how the plot goes, an old map that leads you to some pirate treasure, buried gold or a lost ark.
