We teamed up with @makeit.wet, @studiocandicelau, and @timberland_eu for a Leather Craft Workshop at the King's Cross Platform.
It was a great night where everybody got into the zone and appreciated the craft that goes into creating leather products. The community got stuck in, with the guidance of @makeit.wet and @studiocandicelau to create their own exclusive Timberland Boot tag.
Big shout out to everyone that helped put it together and to our brand partners @makeit.wet, @studiocandicelau and @timberland_eu.
Candice Lau (left) is an award-winning master leatherworker and sculptor whose practice bridges the worlds of traditional craft and contemporary art. Candice has over a decade of experience in leatherwork and has worked with clients such as Audemas Piguet, Hermes, Selfridges, and Victoria and Albert Museum.
Make It Wet, founded by designed Meg Hughes (right), is built on the belief that clothing should carry meaning, honesty and craftsmanship. Meg has always fished in Anglesey with her dad which in turn shaped the way she sees and connects with the world and has an influenced her designs.
Community members chose their tag shape and got stuck in to the craft.
With Candice, we heat pressed the stamp designed by Meg on to the leather and then chose what size whole we wanted to punch. To finish off we chose which colour paint we wanted to seal the leather edges with and carefully applied.
Make It Wet brought the fishing tackle, clips, and rope to customise the tags and boots.
Boots re-laced and styled, exclusive customised tag attached. Time had flown by.
