In anticipation of Air Max Day, we arranged some light-hearted fun for our Offspring community and Air Max enthusiasts at our King’s Cross store. The event offered a cosy night in and a good laugh with our sneaker family.
Our event host was the one and only officialsneakerspeaker, who did a fantastic job preparing the quiz night questions and managing our energetic crowd. He took it ‘old skool’ and divided out the groups like we were back in school, breaking up the cliques, even splitting up the twins thefreshprinceofair and cmorekickz, putting them on rival teams.
The quiz consisted of four rounds divided into the following categories: Air Max History, Iconic Models, Culture and Collaborations, and Guess the Silhouette and Colourway. All four teams gave their best in answering every question, aiming to accumulate the most points for a chance to win the mystery prize.
Extreme measures were taken to conceal their team’s answers, especially when seeing confusion among the opposing teams. Between rounds, numerous debates arose from the interpretation of certain questions. This included a tense moment where schopes did everything he could to defend his corner regarding a particular full-length Air cushioning debate.
We had to play head teacher at times with london_shosho checking her phone to apparently make ‘dinner reservations’.
As we got closer to the latter stages, we saw tensions rising and excitement build between locojimbo and the host. We had to call in VAR to decide the debate with Officalsneakerspeaker taking back control.
Tensions were high as some participants forgot their buzzer sounds, while others ended up sounding like farm animals.
In the end, the winning team – AMG took their victory with much excitement! We then threw in the plot twist that in fact there were no losers and everyone in attendance will be winning an undisclosed prize!!
