We crossover to Italy and chat to Offspring Community member Lisa aka @lisamartinoni
Tell us about yourself.
Hello guys it’s Lisa here, your sneakers girl from Italy! I’m 26 years old, born and raised in a small town near Como Lake. I’m a girl who likes a dynamic life, in fact I have done different types of jobs, I started working as a barman after I finished school and after some years, I decided to move to Miami for some months to study Business English. After Miami I moved to St. Moritz, and I worked as a Sales assistant.
At the beginning of this year, I decided to come back to Italy and now I’m working for a big company in the oil industry, but who knows where I will be in the future.
How long have you been into sneakers and how did you get into them?
I have been a fan of sneakers since I was a kid in the middle school, I was also a fan of the music shows and films that used to be played on TV at that time, and I think they had a big impact on me and brought me into the sneakers/streetwear world. I started to buy my own sneakers when I got my first job. My parents did buy me some sneakers when I was in school but then I always wanted more and more.
I remember perfectly, in 2017, when Virgil Abloh announced his new collaboration with Nike “THE TEN”, that was the beginning of my bankruptcy lol.
This was also my first “L” because I didn’t know how to buy them, so I bought the Air force 1 x Off- White at resell. After that I started to join raffles and my first “W” was the Nike Air Max 1/97 Sean Wotherspoon.
Do you have any early sneakers memory?
I remember when I was in middle school, I used to have more than 10 pairs of Vans Authentic in different colours. I always wanted to go to school matching the colour of my Vans of the day with the colour of my sweater. Anyway, I still love Vans, and I regret throwing away my old pairs.
Do you have any sneaker regrets and what is your sneaker grail?
Like I said, I really regret throwing away my old pairs of Vans, but my biggest regret is I didn’t enter the raffles for the Parra x Nike Air Max 1 back in 2018. At that time, I didn't know if I really liked them, today I really regret not buying that pair and now they actually are my biggest grail! I’m sure that one day they will be part of my collection.
What sneaker are in your rotation currently?
Honestly, in the past I used my beaters because of the weather, which is always bad and raining, so I used to wear my pair of New Balance 530 or Asics Gel NYC. Now I’m looking forward to put on some summer sneakers like my Sean Wotherspoon x adidas Superstar Superearth. One more sneaker that I'm really looking forward to wearing is the Concepts x Nike Air Max 1.
Aside from sneakers what else are you into?
In my life I have two passions: sneakers and travelling. All the money I don’t spend on sneakers I spend on travelling. The thing I love about travelling is getting to know new people, exploring new traditions and new cultures and in my suitcase, I always put some sneakers that I think could matching the vibes of the country I am in. (Every time I go in a new city, I make a list of all the shops I should visit, I know I’m crazy 😆).
What does the Offspring community mean to you?
It means a lot to me! And I’m not just saying it, I feel like I’m a part of an amazing Community even if I don’t live in UK and that’s an amazing feeling for me.
Thanks to Offspring I have met some beautiful people who have become my friends and that couldn’t be possible if we didn’t have this common passion.
Also, I remember like it was yesterday when I won my first raffle, I did a day trip from Milan to London just to collect my Air Jordan 1 UNC Patent, and now I wanna thank you guys for this amazing opportunity and I will be forever grateful for letting me be part of the Community.
