Straight from the 36 Chambers, The Wu-Tang Clan are one of the most influential hip-hop artists of all time. Building the best swordsmen on the mic, their art has transcended the music scene and into fashion, film and video games.
In celebration of the return of the iconic Wu-Tang Dunk to the public, we hosted a listening party for the Community with a set curated by DJ Jazzy Jeff (@djjazzyjeff), the Community's very own DJ A.m.Zee (@djamzee) behind the decks, food provided by long-term partners Wing Shack (@wingshackco), hot honey locally sourced in London courtesy of Dr Sting (@drstingshothoney), and drinks from MOTH (@mothdrinks).
The Wu-Tang Dunk could be of the most infamous sneaker collaborations in history. Rumoured to have only 36 pairs release back in 1999 - a callback to Wu-Tang Clan's debut album "Enter the 36 Chambers"- later to be corrected by the de facto leader of the Wu-Tang Clan, the RZA himself said that there was around 100 pairs - Nike brings back one of the most important sneaker partnerships with a hip-hop group.
For true heads, the evening showcased Wu-Tang Clan in their most pure form. For the new generation, it highlighted the importance of a Dunk that was once the most elusive pair.
