Offspring have won the adidas Consortium Cup!

THE FINAL

For the Championship round any silhouette was on the cards, including hybrids. Introducing the Offspring adidas Response RS OZWEEGO.

Offspring once again took inspiration from the local environment with this mash up of two giant models. Based on the concept of a £1 note, which is part of history and no longer in circulation, this formed the basis of our choice of silhouette. The iconic Raf Simons OZWEEGO, which is also part of history and no longer in circulation, is bought back in a colour scheme that fits the old currency.

Using shades of cream and beige from the walls of the Bank of England and direct colour references from the note itself in light greens, mauves, and greys. The upper of the Response CL contains the iconic piping that was found on the Raf Simons OZWEEGO and sits tall on the tooling (midsole) of the RS OZWEEGO.

Offspring continue the premium nature of their pack by using super soft nubuck, suedes and mesh on the underlay. Hidden details and references can be found on the holographic logo and midsole, which is represented on bank notes. As well as custom serial number debossed on into the suede and Offspring London in the Bank of England font on the lace tab.

SEMI FINAL

OFFSPRING taps into the world of premiumization again for its third entry, aiming to elevate the ZX8000 to future grail status with an elegantly polished and versatile design.

Based on Portland stone, which has been used for 100s of years to construct some of London’s most lavish and beautiful old buildings. Its natural form is often soft with a glow of shades of brown and beige going through it which has been accentuated through centuries old rainwater and general day to day abrasion from this bustling city.

Staying true to the nature of the inspiration behind the design, we used a mix of soft and premium leather, premium suede, with touches of hairy suede and microperforation detailing to tailor in the shades most reminiscent on the Portland stone. We also added a hint of mint green to the lace tips which represent the oxidised lead that you find on the roof tops of a lot of buildings in London.

ROUND 2

Offspring’s next celebration of British craftsmanship takes the form of a luxe Centennial Low design, once again in a muted colour scheme, this time with a rub-away heel accent of the London Thames hidden beneath.

The rest of the design is characterized by premium features such as the gold accented medial quarter print, waxed laces with metal lace tips, and open foam edges for a touch of modern-aged craftsmanship​.

The use of premium perf leather to represent vachetta leather and super soft suede on the upper. This is finished off with milky translucent midsole and a hidden offspring logo set in a clear window on the forefront of the outsole.

ROUND 1

We dedicate our Consortium Cup line-up to our homeground, London, with sneaker design storylines inspired by the trends and premium craftsmanship for which the city is known, starting with this made-to-weather interpretation of the Samba.

Over time, the clean and understated design will wear away to reveal the hidden paisley pattern underneath the off-white rub-off stripes, heel tab and tongue. The pattern ​also features on the insock. The sneakers will come with multiple sets of laces giving you the choice which fit into your style.
