In 1972, legendary running coach Bill Bowerman set out to create a running shoe that was both lightweight and durable and thus the infamous NikeCortez was born.
Years later in 1994 came the release of the iconic film Forrest Gump which reminded popular culture of this heritage silhouette and the classic colourway of white, blue and red became known as the “Forrest Gump” Cortez.
The Nike Cortez features clean leather uppers, a varsity red Swoosh and brand accents and the vintage style padded nylon tongue. The outsole boasts the original angle-cut tread which offers expert traction and grip.
This Autumn we have teamed up with Puma to release an exclusive collection of 4 archive silhouettes in some classic colourways.
Some may remember the birth of “terrace” fashion back in the ’70s/’80s, originating in the North of England amongst football fans. The look started when football fans started following their teams around Europe often coming back with trainers that weren’t available in the UK, therefore giving them one up on their mates. This obsession with European sportswear soon took hold with fans across the country and the birth of the casual “terrace” look was born.
Often suede with clean lines and slim soles, the terrace trainer has remained a classic and favourite amongst football fans through the generations. Nowadays the look isn’t quite as bold as it once was as the new generation haven’t quite brought back the shell suit jacket.
The Puma Archive pack is releasing the Roma (1968), the Trimm Quick (1970), the G. Vilas (1970) and Court Star (1980) and all stay true to their roots with the distinctive terrace aesthetic.

Launching this Thursday is the second instalment of Nike‘s Look of the City collection, centred around a sweet scheme of desserts based on each city.
The “Dessert” pack showcases the classic Air Max 90 in 6 unique colourways with premium finishes, its hard to decide which one is our favourite.
From London we have the English favourite, “Eton Mess”, featuring white meringue style tumbled leather uppers with strawberry and cream swirl effect panels and outsole.
From Paris we have the much loved afternoon treat, the “Macaron”, in a delectable lavender colourway with a lustre finish and quilted panel detail.
From Milan is the sunset colourway inspired by more of a drink than a dessert the “Aperitivo. The HyperFuse upper has an ombre effect, going from red to a peachy shade.
From New York we have the classic “Strawberry Cheesecake” which has a soft suede upper in shades of beige, red strawberry effect panels and a gum sole.
From Shanghai we have the vibrant “Must Win Cake” featuring a bubblegum pink embossed, patterned upper and red detailing.
Finally from Tokyo we have the futuristic “Harajuku Crepe”, little play on words here as “crepe” is, as we know, another word for sneaker. This style features a VacTech upper in pure white and cream with a gum outsole and black striped laces.
The pack will launch online and in-store on Thursday 24th September.
With so many great designer collaborations under their belt, it seemed only fitting for adidas to release a high fashion looking trainer for general release. With a Y-3 aesthetic and a ridged sole reminiscent of the much hyped Yeezy Boost, the Tubular x Premium Prime Knit is a unique model.
This hybrid silhouette steps into basketball-inspired high style effortlessly and builds on the iconic design lines from the adidas Forum. It adds premium fashion details like hand knit patterns on the adidas Primeknit upper, nubuck and leather overlays, and a semi-opaque heel counter.
Also dropping with the grey model is the adidas x Prime Knit, a slightly different aesthetic on the same silhouette.These unisex shoes build on the legacy of the 1993 Tubular runner, re-creating it as a modern street-style sneaker. The mixed-material upper is built on a base of snake effect Primeknit, adidas’ ultra-light, breathable technical textile and a two-tone sculpted midsole.

Reebok has partnered up with French fashion brand Sandro for a second time, realising a Classics collection for AW15.
Taking on a contemporary, minimalist style, this limited edition capsule collection uses the iconic Classic Leather silhouette and the traditional Club C court. Renowned for its clean and refined aesthetic, Sandro’s focus on revisiting classic designs with a contemporary twist again proves to be the perfect partner to Reebok Classic, as the collection combines an elegant Parisian aesthetic with versatile, luxe streetwear staples.
The Reebok’s Classic women’s leather receives a luxe treatment with its premium, Italian leather upper, updated with a futuristic mirrored finish in a glossy golden sheen, while white laces, interior and outsole provide a fresh contrast.
This Club C court men’s shoe is presented in solid black or white mono and takes its simplistic, streamlined look a step further, stripping back the Reebok lines for an unfussy, effortlessly timeless sneaker.
The Reebok x Sandro AW15 collection will be available online and in selected stores on Monday 7th September.
Back in the day the Nike Air Prestowas one of the most worn Nike trainers and now this iconic silhouette is fully making a comeback.
Designed by Tobie Hatfield, the Nike Air Presto was developed as a response to the overprotective running shoes of the 1990s. Created as a kind of T-shirt for the foot, with a unique XXXS-XXXL sizing structure and an elastic upper that hugged your foot.The slim design comprised a loose elastic upper and thin plastic lattice on the shoe’s sides that held the laces. Its minimalism and snug support made it a favourite of both runners and collectors. The updated Presto brings back the shoe’s revolutionary approach to fit, comfort and sizing with a stretchy upper, plush cushioning and moulded midfoot ‘fingers’.
Following on from the releases of the “Brutal Honey,” “Lightning” and “Unholy Cumulus” colourways, Nike is releasing another classic style from 2000, the “Island Blue”. This sock fit trainer features a mostly blue upper with flashes of white sat atop a signature white and blue sole unit.
The Nike Air Presto “Island Blue” launches on the 5th September and will be available online and in-store.

elastics and velcro offer new dimensions and characteristics to footwear with

Another exciting launch this weekend sees the return of the Reebok Aztec OG, originally produced in 1979.
This flexible and lightweight runner is the ultimate in comfort and this re-launch features a stitch for stitch remodelling of the iconic shoe, bringing back a collectors favourite.
To coincide with the launch Reebok have taken a step back in time and made a short film with Reebok’s co-founder, Joe Foster. In the film Joe revisits the factory in Bury where the original Aztec produced and explores the heritage and impact the shoe had then and still has now amongst collectors.
The Reebok Aztec OG will launch this Saturday 22nd and will be available online hereand in-store.
After the first two offerings from Kanye West’s collaboration with adidas Originals, it was about time we were offered a third instalment and we are pretty hyped for the pirate black colourway to drop this weekend.
