Tell us about yourself
Hey wassup peeps, it’s your girl Tash and you know I’m here to represent for the ladies! I am born and raised in East London, but I spent a long time studying in Holland! Shout out my Dutch crew :)
How long have you been into sneakers and how did you get into them?
I have been into kicks from most of my childhood up to now. I mean I went through the La Pony with the lights on them, to the standard Reebok classics in every colour. It wasn’t until the Nike Tailwind hit the Littlewoods catalogue that I knew I had to have that shoe. At this point it wasn’t kids sizing it was small ladies! Which wasn’t cheap back then and isn’t now. And let me tell you, after that came the Nike TL 98s and so on…
Do you have any early sneaker memory?
My earliest sneaker memory would have to be when I was younger my cousin Mark always had the hottest kicks. Whether it was New Balance, Nike Huaraches or Nike Air Max’s. One day he came home with the triple black leather Air Max 95 with the clear bubble, and I begged him to get me a pair. But being around 11/12 years old my size wasn’t available in that colour or with all the bubbles, so he came in with the black grey and gold pair with the single bubble on the heel. Needless to say, I absolutely thought I was IT at school. The hype from your school friends was always lit!
Do you have any sneaker regrets and what is your sneaker grail?
One of the sneaker regrets I had until recently was getting my hands on the Patta x Nike Air Max 1 Black. My size was only on the SNKRS app, and we all know how that goes! If the Offspring Community showed me anything it was definitely how much they support you. I had and entries from everyone worldwide to try to get the shoe! In the end I got them from Italy a year later!
I own my sneaker grail, and if you know me and my silhouette it’s of course the Air Max 1 Cherrywood. Let’s just say I dropped some Ps on those bad boys.
What sneakers are in your rotation currently?
The sneakers in my rotation currently are (drum roll please): Nike OG Velour Rift, Nike Air Max 1 Oregon Duck, Nike Air Max 1 Year of the Snake, and my beaters which are the Nike SB Dunk Low Nasty Neckface. Very different from a couple of years back where I only owned mostly Air Max 1s.
As a woman in the sneaker industry can you tell us how you’ve been able to navigate yourself in a predominately male space and your experience so far?
As a woman in the sneaker industry navigating it has been fun but tough at times. It was all about the male egos and who’s got the heat! It definitely wasn’t about letting the women get in on this wave. Nowadays, it’s changed, and the ladies are repping with heat on feet. Sizing has come a long way. It was always men’s releases starting from a size 6 and used to be a lot of dead colourways for the smaller feet.
Nowadays, ladies’ voices are heard there’s more creatives and bigger collaborations for us. So, shout out all to stay pushing!!!
Aside from sneaker what else are you into?
Aside from kicks I love handbags and heels. For me my daily go to is kicks and a nice handbag and there is always a handbag for every occasion of course. I think with that it’s everything in between and I definitely treat myself too much all the time. Motto is always work hard and play harder.
What does the Offspring community mean to you?
Actually, a hell of a lot! I have made some lifelong friendships and I have had many times where I have supported others online in person and also been supported. In the beginning it started as I just wanted to win a raffle! And then I changed my content and started uploading kicks that a lot of guys would love to own. I will always have the biggest love for all the Offspring crew and OGs! You know who you are!
It’s been real, and I hope you’ve enjoyed my ting!
